Turkish army’s chief visits Albania

TIRANA, May 25 – Regional issues and cooperation between the two armies were the main topics in talks in Tirana last week as Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel made a visit, meeting with local top military officials and also Defense Minister Arben Imami and President Bujar Nishani.
All meetings were held without a media presence, but a statement from the defense minister’s office said that the ties between Turkey and Albania were considered as perfect in every field. The minister also thanked Turkey’s contribution to the regional stability adding Albania as well approached the problems in the region in a constructive way.
The Turkish general considered the bilateral relations as friendly, adding that a number of projects within the scope of signed agreements were carried out successfully, according the Albanian defense ministry press release.
