TIRANA, June 17 – Kosovo-based Elkos Group is building a giant storage facility for local agriculture products in Lushnja, some 80 km from Tirana, known as the breadbasket of Albanian agriculture due its fertile lands and hard-working farmers.
The Kosovo-based company is planning to invest Euro 7 million in a 21,000 m2 storage facility in the Dushk commune, serving 10,000 local farmers by collecting, storing and processing local agriculture products for Kosovo and regional markets.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Edi Rama described the investment as very important for the modernization of the local agriculture infrastructure and access to markets.
“Investments of this kind ease exports and increase trade exchanges between the two countries,” said Prime Minister Rama.
Ramiz Kelmendi, the president of Elkos Group, said the new facility will help exports not only to Kosovo, but also the region and Europe.
