Albania’s main opposition Democratic Party will elect its leader this weekend at a time when the center-right party is defeated, divided and weak. The party has just gone through the worst defeat in its 27-year history and different fractions don’t agree on whether the leadership election should have taken place at all this time or even whether the incumbent leader, Lulzim Basha, should have even been allowed to run again.
