TIRANA, March 30 – As of Monday, those who wish to leave the house between the 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. curfew are required to obtain a permit by the Albanian government, as part of the measures to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Albanian citizens can follow two ways to obtain the permit, while foreigners living in the country can do so by sending a text message to 55155. The text message should be in this form: F *passport number* *time you wish to go out*

The time must be in the 24-hour clock format. An example of a text message is: F J1234567G 0930

The confirmation will be received within 24 hours, therefore all foreign residents are required to apply for the permit one day before they wish to leave their house.

However, the authorization is not required for those who go to work. Moreover, those who surpass the 1-hour permit will not be fined, as this only serves to regulate the movement of people.
