Last Friday the premiere of A Provincial Chronicle with screenplay by Ylljet Ali謡 and directed by Artan Minarolli inaugurated a new cinema lodged in the Kristal Center, Tirana. Four years after the shootings began, the film brings not only an interesting intrigue spreading a provincial flavor, but also back-in-time images of actors that have evolved or passed away. Arta Dobroshi, co-starring with Tedi Papavrami, is now a world renowned actress, famous for her interpretation of Lorna in Lorna’s Silence from the Dardenne brothers. The talented actor Aleko Prodani, who has changed life, is brought back to the recollections of the spectators through his warm interpretation in the film, as well as Agim Qirjaqi that has been absent from the screen over the last two years.
A Provincial Chronicle narrates the story of an Albanian painter (Tedi Papavrami) returning home in a small Albanian town where the flow of provincial life will entangle not only his confused return but also his growing fondness for a delicate flower-hearted girl of the provincial town (Arta Dobroshi). The film was shot in the southern city of Berat and the camera has amorously embraced each city scene, producing almost postcard images of the over two-millenary city.
Mirush Kabashi, Robert Ndrenika, Fadil Hasa, Margarita Xhepa, Ndri読 Xhepa, Natasha Sela, Bir襠Hasko, Vangjel To襬 Marko Bitraku, Guljem Radoja, Sheri Mita, etc. people the streets and homes of the small provincial town, and successfully bring to the screen and animate a full typological chest of provincial characters.
The music is composed by Fatos Qerimi. A Provincial Chronicle was produced by Albimazh (Albania), 8 et Plus (France), Revolver (Italy) with the support of the National Center of Cinematography and the Southern Fund of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of France. The film is actually shows at the newly-inaugurated Kristal Cinema.
