TIRANA, Nov 9 – Albania, once the most isolated country in the world, amazingly attracts much interest from the west and is considered a place to discover, but not a black spot any more.
That could be easily noticed in the Sunday Times article last Sunday titled “Albania picks up baton for Balkans.”
“Is Albania the next Montenegro?” it questions, a good one, one would think.

Aman Resorts נfamous for luxurious hotels in Bali, Marrakesh and Sri Lanka נopened the first phase of a development at Sveti Stefan in 2008.
Now attention is switching to neighboring Albania. The coastline is home to some of the best beaches in the Med and backed by a mountainous interior that features some striking historical monuments including the fortress town of Kruje, which once resisted Ottoman siege for a mind-boggling 40 years.
Backpackers and DIY adventurers have already made inroads but now the tour operator Holiday Options is dipping its toes into the water. Albania is also featuring on next year’s small-ship cruise programme from Noble Caledonia.
