Albania celebrates Kurban Bayram

TIRANA, Nov. 6 – Albanians celebrated Sunday Kurban Bayram Day with festivities held all around the country.
Top officials and politicians also made the ceremonial visit to the Muslim Community headquarters hailing the Muslim holiday and promoting the country’s religious harmony.
Albanians in the country shared meat and other items among each other, especially for the poor families.
About two-thirds of Albania’s 3.2 million population are Muslims. Religion was banned in Albania from 1967 until 1990 by the late Communist dictator Enver Hoxha. Albania is officially a secular nation, and relations between religious communities are generally good.
