TIRANA, Sep 29 – Albanian government signs two contracts worth 38 million Euros to build two industrial parks in port cities in an effort to promote development and fight unemployment.
Albania company IDEA Vlora will spend 21 million Euros in the port city of Vlora, and the German company ATX International will spend 17 million Euros in the port town of Shengjin, 140 kilometers southwest of Tirana and 60 kilometers northwest of the capital respectively, according to the Economy, Trade and Energy Ministry.
Some 125 hectares in Vlora and 3.2 hectares in Shengjin would be used to invest in the light industry and food plants aiming to both employ some 22,000 persons, according to a statement.
Albania, one of Europe’s countries in Europe, hopes to one day become a European Union member trying to attract more investors with low taxes and more facilities to foreign direct investment.
