Albania invites bids for mining concessions

TIRANA, Nov 23 – The economy, energy and trade ministry invited bids for concessions to two mines and two mineral enrichment plants.
On offer are concessions for chrome mines at Kalimash and Vlahna; a chrome enrichment plant at Kalimash; and a copper enrichment unit at Golaj.
The deadline for bids is February 11, 2009.
The two Kalimash sites have a surface area of 7.05kmҠwith an output capacity of 150,000 tonnes per year.
The Vlahna chrome mine has a surface area of 1.92kmҠand production capacity of 70,000 tonnes per year. The copper enrichment plant in Golaj has a surface area of 0.0615kmҍ
