TIRANA, June 5 – Albania and Kosovo are working to produce common textbooks for their first-grade students. This was declared last weekend after a meeting between Albanian Education Minister, Myqerem Tafaj, and his Kosovar counterpart. “We will soon have textbooks on the market for children abroad [outside Albania], based on a common programme,” said Tafaj.
The two education ministries have already set up working groups to unify the school curricula.
This development illustrates the strong partnership Albania and Kosovo have fostered since Kosovo’s independence in 2008.
