TIRANA, June 9 – The Albanian government says it has undertaken all the required steps to offer a more qualitative tourism season this year.
Prime Minister Edi Rama said that beaches and national roads are no longer covered with trash. He also added that all public beaches will be free to everyone and companies that want private places should pay a rent and also take good care of its management and maintenance.
Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri also said that police and other law-enforcement authorities have become prepared to cope with an increased influx of tourists this summer.
Authorities are expecting to have some 3-3.5 million tourists this summer, most from neighboring Kosovo or Macedonia and also many Albanian immigrants returning home for vacation.
