TIRANA, June 13 – Albania has reconfirmed its support of NATO operations in Libya by offering all the capacities it has. This was outlined during the last meeting of the NATO defense ministers in Brussels, where Albanian counterpart Arben Imami took part.
The meeting decided to postpone the mandate of operations to protect the civil population in Libya, as well as to create a no-fly zone and weapons embargo.
It also discussed ties with Russia and the continuation of the peace-keeping mission in Afghanistan.
Albania is currently engaged in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan and Bosnia, and is soon expected to take part in NATO operations in Libya.
