TIRANA, June 10 – A group of prominent Albanian-American business executives announced Wednesday the re-activation of the Albanian-American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (AACC) which was established on March 13, 1995, the first such Chamber of Commerce in the history of United States-Albania relations.
AACC will strive to foster, promote and develop business contacts and relations between the United States and Albania and to encourage the development of commercial enterprises between residents of the two nations.
The Chamber of Commerce will endeavor to bring about in the United States a greater knowledge and understanding of current commercial and investment opportunities in Albania. The organization aspires to bring together members who share a common interest in the development of business activities and relations between the United States and Albania.
AACC will focus on the gathering and circulation to its members of current commercial and investment opportunities in modern democratic Albania and will assist its members to achieve various business objectives in Albania.
The Chamber of Commerce will work together with other organizations in Albania and the United States with common purposes and objectives. We expect the Albanian-American community to play an important role in the activities of the Chamber of Commerce.
AACC will circulate to its members a periodic newsletter on commercial, economic, and relevant legal developments in Albania. It will also keep its members abreast of developments in governmental policies and political events affecting business and trade between the United States and Albania. It will regularly hold meetings, receptions and conferences on business and investment opportunities in Albania, as well as trade missions to Albania and the United States.
The key individuals in the re-activation of AAC are of Albanian origin and have a passionate commitment to the fulfillment of the organization’s goal and its stated mission.
AACC will be based in New York City and plans to open branches in Boston, Massachusetts; Detroit, Michigan; Dallas, Texas, and in other cities with a large concentration of Albanian-Americans.
The proposed annual membership dues are $1000 for Corporate Members and $500 for Individual Members. Membership in AACC is open to all persons and businesses considering investment, trade, professional services and economic opportunities in Albania. AACC will be managed by its Board of Directors and will be administered by the Management Committee elected by the Board of Directors.
