TIRANA, Dec. 21 – ALBtelecom and Eagle Mobile, part of Turkey-based Calik Group, have supported 20 pre-university and university students with scholarships for the second year in a row. In a ceremony held in the company’s new premises in downtown Tirana, Orhan Coskun, the director general of the two companies reconfirmed support to people in need through special projects in the education sector.
The scholarships, which come as presents for the year-end holidays, are part of Eagle Mobile and ALBtelecom’s social responsibility projects which in 2011 were dedicated to the education sector under the motto “Hand in hand with education.”
“To date, we have invested more than 150 million euros in modernizing technology for both companies with the target of offering contemporary services and making communication easier for all Albanians, but our most important and priceless investment is supporting students with scholarships under social projects. I am convinced that every one of you, despite the kind of degree you get, will have a very important role in the country’s development, offering your best services,” said Coskun in the meeting with students who apart from scholarships were also given year-end holiday presents.
