TIRANA, Dec. 4 – Contemporary art, workshops, performances, exhibitions, video-mapping installations, experimental music and book presentations were featured in Tirana in different venues in the tenth edition of Art Kontakt festival bringing together Albanian and foreign artists.
The festival kicked off on December 4 with a student workshop and continued with some video installations of the most significant works in these 10 years of Art Kontakt.
The festival will conclude on Friday December 6 with a contemporary art performance by Albanian actress Ema Andrea and artist Klod Dedja and Italian artists Marianna Andrigo and Aldo Aliprandi at the National Art Gallery.
On the festival’s tenth anniversary, organizers have proposed “Fragile Limits” three intense days of activities offered by some of the best friends of ArtKontaKt, consisting mainly of performance, a discipline that had a big part in the story the festival wants to celebrate. The title derives from the art project that will be presented by the duo VestAndPage, based on the fragility of the biological, psychological and spiritual sphere of contemporary man. “A fragility that Art Kontakt also wants to recognize in the physical limits, the real borders and the social phenomena. This without claiming to find solutions to problems, but believing that the language of art can enhance the vision of the world and the understanding between people.”
The intercultural dialogue process called ‘KontaKt ‘ was born in Venice in 2003, focused on the exchange and mediation between cultures and artistic phenomena from the Adriatic area at a time when the Balkans were considered the dark side of Europe.
