Albania’s government has put forward its goals in attracting foreign investors at an international conference organized in Tirana this week.
The event focused on the climate for foreign investment in Albania, concrete opportunities, especially in infrastructure and energy, and support for the development of investment projects in Albania.
The Second Conference of International Foreign Investments in Albania was held on Nov. 2-5 at Tirana International Hotel with the participation of investors and representatives of the Albanian government, as well as business leaders.
They focused on evaluating new investment opportunities that Albania offers.
There were representatives from 120 foreign companies and 200 domestic companies at the conference.
“Organizing the conference served to reflect the achievements of Albania, which in recent years, as a new democracy with a developing market economy, and a country with new opportunities for foreign investors, has been developing thanks to being able to work with low costs and offering a population of young and educated people, ready for the labor market,” the Economy Ministry said in statement.
The conference sessions reflected the priority sectors of the Albanian economy such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, market immovable property, mining, tourism and banking system.
Increasing economic opportunities will result in increased investment opportunities and development, according to the Economy Ministry. Achievements by domestic investors have contributed substantially while interest from international investors has just begun to emerge.
The conference also featured success stories presented by foreign companies operating in Albania for many years.
Representatives of Albanian and foreign companies present in the conference had the opportunity to network, share their experiences on the opportunities that Albania offers in business development.
