The exhibition at the Rogner Hotel in Tirana features artworks by six Austrian painters Walter Hachleitner, Christian Kvasnicka, Luigi La Speranza, Wolfgang Sinwel, Gerhard Sternheim, Robert Zielasko who engage in an artist’s dialogue with their Albanian colleagues. The six Albanian painters participating in the exhibition are Najada Hamza, Ardian Isufi, Genti Korini, Gazmend Leka, Hasan Nallbani and Orion Shima.
The exhibition open at the Rogner Hotel from Oct. 16 to 19 will travel to Berat Museum of Art where it will be displayed from November 6 to 17.
The Austrian Days held from Oct. 16 to 19 2012 brought an academic and historical analysis of developments and Austrian-Albanian links during the past 100 years, highlighting the role Austria has played as a strategic partner in Albania’s 100 years of independence.
The exhibition is held as part of xion.dialog, an initiative of art by Xion IT Systems AG. The idea is to launch a platform for creative and consuming artfans. It’s kind of “get together” between contemporary artists and people who are interested in artist’s work.
Last November, Artists from Austria, Albania, France and Germany came together to celebrate the 2011 Austrian Cultural Week in Tirana. A single-room house was set up in the yard of the National Gallery of Art, Tirana where five exhibitions and four concerts were held from Nov. 5 to 13. The single-room house was a temporary, flexible exhibition concept, created by Philipp Morlock. As the name suggests the house, had one room and a simple roof form that is used for weather protection, representing a refuge, a sanctuary, a place where you can keep something safe.
