Avanti wins satellite broadband contract in Albania

TIRANA, Dec 1 – UK-based satellite broadband services operator Avanti Communications Group signed a new VNO contract with Albanian service provider Starsat.
Starsat had previously signed a wholesale contract and is now making a separate commitment to service to provide critical communications services to a financial services company.
This phase of the contract is worth 138,000 British pounds over the next three years.
Avanti sells satellite broadband services to wholesale customers targeting consumer, businesses and institutional markets.
Its first satellite, Hylas, is under construction and scheduled for launch in 2009. It currently provides services using leased satellite capacity which will be transferred to Hylas on launch.
