TIRANA, Sep 17 – The presidents of Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro held their fifth annual meeting in Durres, Albania pledging to take their countries to closer ties as the next step toward reaching membership into the European Union.
Albania’s President Bujar Nishani hosted the meeting with Kosovo’s counterpart Ahtifete Jahjaga, Macedonia’s George Ivanov and Montenegro’s Filip Vujanovic.
Closer cooperation in the region was the main topic of the meeting.
All the presidents said they will try to promote joint regional projects and urge their executives for more funding especially on the Corridor 8 project. The new TAP gas pipeline is a good future for their inclusion in the European market.
