TIRANA, Jan 27ؔhe deposit portfolio of commercial banks operating in Albania stood at some 657.69 billion leks ($6.72 billion/4.75 billion euro) at the end of November, 4.9% higher than a year earlier, central bank data indicated.
The banks’ end of November deposit portfolio was 1.0% higher than a month earlier.
The loan portfolio of commercial banks in Albania amounted to some 435.97 billion leks ($4.45 billion/3.15 billion euro) at the end of November, up 10.3% from a year earlier, central bank statistics indicated.
On a monthly basis the banks’ end of November credit portfolio was 0.7% higher.
At the end of 2008 the banks’ credit portfolio totalled 396.3 billion leks, up 35% on the year.
M3 broad money supply totalled 858.478 billion leks ($8.77 billion/6.2 billion euro) at the end of November, up by 7.3% on the year.
On a monthly basis M3 money supply was 0.8% higher at the end of November.
