Berisha meets with South Korean parliamentary delegation

TIRANA, Aug 2 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha met last week with a South Korean parliamentary delegation visiting the country.
Berisha praised the excellent political relations between the two countries and expressed the wish and commitment of his Albanian government to establish and intensify the relations and cooperation between them, in particular in economic, trade field and bilateral investments.
South Korean parliamentarian Song thanked Berisha for the warm and friendly hospitality and also praised the excellent relations between the two countries. He also expressed the will of his country for further intensification of such cooperation, especially in the economic and trade field between two countries.
Berisha informed the delegation of the reforms undertaken by the Albanian government in its economic development and the establishment of a favorable climate for business and investments in the country. Albania is the country with the lowest taxes in Europe, Premier Berisha said.
There are several prestigious South Korean companies, such as Samsung, Korea Electric, etc, which have expressed interest in investing in Albania.
Berisha assured the parliamentarians that the South Korean investments will have the full support of the Albanian government.
Berisha thanked the South Korean government for the support given to Albania, in particular in projects of re-structuring of the electric network in Albania, students’ scholarship for qualification of Albanian students, etc.
South Korean parliamentarians were really interested in the field of power production, tourism, and mineral industry and guaranteed Berisha that their government would continue to support Albania in the second stage of the electric network restructuring, as well as encourage other Korean investors to consider Albania as their destination for business and investments.
