Berisha urges Kuwait investment

TIRNA, March 23 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha met Tuesday with Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Rashid Al-Hammad who was accompanied by senior representatives of Kuwaiti justice and the head of the Kuwait-Albania Friendship Association.
The prime minister said this visit reflects the high level of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Rashid Al-Hammad confirmed the high level of relations which will be further strengthened with the opening of the respective embassies in the two countries.
Berisha thanked Rashid Al-Hammad for the generous assistance that Kuwait has provided Albania with since the collapse of communism and applauded the contribution of the Kuwaiti Fund in financing and implementation of dozens of important projects, including a road known as the South Axis, a project that will have major impact on the economy and tourism.
Berisha emphasized the importance of opening of embassies in the respective countries like a step which would not only influence the further increase of the inter-state relations, but even economic relations.
Berisha highlighted the role of Kuwaiti investors in the Albanian economy and made an explained the potential for Kuwaiti investment companies, especially in the energy sector and tourism.
Rashid Al-Hammad expressed interest in business cooperation between the two countries adding that establishing a direct route would have a positive impact.
Berisha assured Rashid Al-Hammad for the support of his government to the Kuwaiti investments.
