TIRANA, Feb 9 – The central Bank of Albania Governor Ardian Fullani held a meeting last week with representatives of foreign exchange offices to discuss the latest developments in the Albanian economy, issues related to a better functioning financial market and the role of actors in the foreign exchange market.
Fullani praised the currency exchange market as the most developed in the country, stressing that currency exchange offices have played and play an irreplaceable role in the development and its progress. He stressed the fact that since 2000, the number of entities that perform activities of currency exchange is tenfold and the Bank of Albania has emitted 227 licenses for currency exchange offices, a comprehensive territorial extension.
Also Fullani said that the performance in the exchange rate is reflected in a continuous supply and demand, while avoiding the risk of price discrepancies in macroeconomic conditions in the country.
Fullani also spoke on the role of the BoA to provide specific training programs or packages about products that can be traded at the domestic market rate.
