Britain to help train Albanian military

TIRANA, Feb. 17 – A delegation of the British Royal Marines visited Albania this week to meet with top defense officials in the country.
During the talks they also discussed on the possibility of the education and training of Albanian military officers in British military schools.
British military officers headed by Maj. Gen. Ed Davis said that the UK was ready to assist Albania. Gen. Davis, who was in the second visit to Albania in a short time, said that Britain would assist Albania in its reforms of the military and also in the other sectors.
Both countries agreed to hold more joint military exercises and other activities.
Albania became a full NATO member in 2009. Britain is a founding member of the alliance.
