TIRANA, July 14 – The budget cuts will also affect mobile phone bonuses awarded to all state officials, which will be halved in an effort to save 250 million lek (around 2.4 million dollars) a year. This was confirmed on Tuesday at the legal affairs parliamentary committee by the Finance Ministry budget director, Mimoza Dhembi. “We are drafting an ordinance to halve the mobile phone expenses to save 250 to 300 million lek,” said Dhembi.
All state institutions including the President’s office, government officials, civil servants and the judiciary will be affected by the changes. The measures come one year after government decided to remove cars and drivers to lawmakers.
The Finance Ministry said cuts will also be made to bonuses for trips abroad.
