Bulgaria to support Albania’s NATO integration

NEW YORK, Sep. 28 – Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha met with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ivaylo Kalfin to discuss Albania’s preparation for NATO membership, the talks on the status of Kosovo, as well as issues related to regional infrastructure.
Berisha stressed that Albania hopes to receive an invitation for NATO membership and will count on Bulgaria’s support. He stated that the Albanian government continues with reforms in defense and combating crime as part of its effort to meet EU membership criteria.
