Tirana, Feb 05 — Thirty business associations, led by the Association of
Italian Entrepreneurs operating in Albania (Aiioa), have drawn up the
constitution of Business Albania, a confederation of enterprises.
The deed of constitution, for what is intended to become a kind of Albanian
‘Confindustria’, was signed by representatives from several countries.
The aim is to provide a voice and safeguard the interests of employers and
represent them in dealings with the government and the unions.
It will also be a “social partner” for employment legislation.
Business Albania, whose
general assembly will meet in March to give the definitive go-ahead to the
statute, and elect officers, will become part of the International
Confederation of work, and part of Business Europe (Union
of organisations of European employers).
