TIRANA, 12 March 2009 – The global economic crisis has put together the chambers of commerce of both countries this week. The crisis and its effects has been the focus of the debate during the meeting between the Gjok Uldedaj, the Head of Albanian Chamber of Commerce, and his counterpart from Montenegro.
During the meeting, Uldedaj emphasized the importance of market liberalization between Albania and Montenegro and the intensification of commercial activities. He requested an improvement in the road infrastructure connecting the two countries that would help commercial exchange and make the regional market more attractive and competitive.
This was the latest of the many meetings between the two chambers in the recent months as part of their attempts to find more effective ways and solutions in face of the global crisis. Both parties are aware of the effects affecting their respective countries.
“Effects of the crisis are being felt in both our countries. Given the situation,” Uldedaj said, “we have to find the best solutions to support each other and our fragile economies.”
The meeting also served for both sides to promote their respective business and companies.
