Conference on inter-Albanian communications

“Because of the fact that Albanians live in several states and have a big and widespread Diaspora, the Albanian culture is a complex entity dependent on communications and mobility,” said Kosovo philologist Shkelzen Maliqi at a conference held as part of the festival.
The “Culture in inter-Albanian communications, and its introduction around the world” conference held in Gjirolastra castle brought together personalities of arts and culture from Albania and Kosovo.
Meanwhile, Ilda Mara, the festival’s organizer and head of the Argjiro Association said all opinions expressed in the debate initiated in Gjirokastra and other debates with 20 intellectuals from Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia will be published at the beginning of next year.
Kosovo politician and publicist Veton Surroi said that “talks and debates on culture should be as serious as possible, because the fact that we are all Albanians is not enough to have cultural communication among us.”
“Because on the one side of the border there was the communist censorship and on the other side the censorship of the Serb regime, the two basic Albanian cultures were lost and are seeking the key to communication,” added Surroi as quoted in a statement.
