Construction companies say government owes them money

Albania’s government continues to be chronically late in paying its bills when it comes to private companies contracted to do public works, industry representatives said this week.
With future investments also tightening, the industry is worried.
“We are waiting for the funds Šbut still nothing,” Association of Constructors head Maks Mu詠told the Albanian daily Shqip.
The government did release some funding in March, but there is still a lot left.
The financial crisis has hit the contraction sector particularly hard, making it harder for companies to generate funding.
