Customs Revenue Rises 12% to 249.4 Mln Euro

Albania collected 34 billion leks ($319.9 million/249.4 million euro)in customs duty revenue in the first four months of the year, up 12% from a year earlier, data of the country’s Customs Administration showed on Wednesday.
Customs revenue totalled 9.5 billion leks in April alone,2.0% above the monthly plan and 14.2% higher as compared to April 2009, the administration said in a statement.
The country’s March customs revenue totalled 9.9 billion leks, up27.4%year-on-year and 6.0% above the monthly plan.
Albania’s exports through April totalled 557,000 tonnes, up from 339,000tonnes in the first four months of2009.
Exports totalled 28 billion leks between January and April this year, up 31% on the year.
