About the event: The Italian development cooperation system has been in Albania since 1991, and it has been a great story of friendship and dialog. Over three decades of activity, the Italian government has allocated more than 800 million Euros for sustainable development and the advancement of human rights.  Many results have been achieved, working alongside national institutions; schools, roads, hospitals, bridges, harbors, electric stations, water treatment plants have been designed and built.

The aim of this event is, through mutual cooperation and effort, to contribute to improving people’s quality of life on a daily basis, strengthening democratic institutions and promoting a better international public image of the country.  Together with the national government, ‘Doors of Tomorrow’ has advocated the protection of human rights, the enhancement of natural heritage, reforms to prevent corruption and tax evasion, the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, organic farming, health, education and tourism.

This is a global plan that has a positive impact on the entire Albanian population.  The proximity between Albania and Italy is not just geographic.  It is human, technical and institutional.  On the road traveled together, Albania grew.  Each cooperation project is an open door to a better shared future of peace, stability and sustainable development.
