TIRANA, Sept. 14 – Albania’s two largest opposition parties in parliament, the Democratic Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration, have reached a deal to share the chairmanships of the three parliamentary committees that belong to the opposition as per regulations.
Based on the deal, the Parliamentary Committee for Health and Social Affairs will be led by SMI’s Petrit Vasili, the SMI’s parliamentary group chair and former Minister of Health.
The DP will chair the other two committees assigned to be led by the opposition: the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration and the Parliamentary Committee on Productive Activities and Environment.
Parliament approved the proposed other parliamentary committee chairs. The Socialist Party’s lawmakers will head Laws Committee through Ulsi Manja, the National Security Committee through Ermonela Felaj, the Productive Activities Committee through Eduard Shalsi, the Economy and Finance Committee through Erion Braà§e and the Foreign Affairs Committee through Mimi Kodheli.
DP gets the European Integration Committee of Genc Pollo and the Education and Public Information Means Committee of Albana Vokshi.
