TIRANA, Sep 17 – New Energy Minister Damian Gjiknuri held its first meeting with top energy officials from the KESH power corporation, CEZ Shperndarje distribution operator and OST transmission operator.
The main issue was the energy situation in the country and the steps to be undertaken to guarantee a non-stop power supply to the citizens and the businesses in the next months.
Gjiknuri asked them to guarantee full electricity supply and also achieve financial stability.
Just before the new government came to power, there was concern that the water reserves were being spent to sell power abroad in a political move that would leave the next executive in difficuly to supply power to the domestic consumers.
No statement was made on the situation in the country at a time when power supply remains a top issue that may be easily exploited politically in this country.
