TIRANA, Dec. 9 – The European Union is giving €10 million euros to implement an anti-corruption action in Albania, EU Ambassador Ambassador Romana Vllahutin said this week.

The funding is meant to help increase transparency in the financing of political parties, end impunity of senior officials and improve an inefficient judiciary.

Ambassador Vlahutin said the European Union will increase its support for citizens and civil society, in order to increase non-tolerance towards corruption.

She said that corruption is a violation of fundamental freedoms and rights.
