TIRANA, April 12 – Armando Begaj, 42, was extradited from Zurich, Switzerland after an international arrest warrant was issued for him from the Vlora district court.
In 2001 he was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment for a murder and another attempted one.
Begaj shot dead Esat Kamberi and tried to kill two others that year.
On Monday Albanian prison officials were also handed over Mirvet Balliu, 34, extradited from Milan, Italy.
In 2003 the Dibra district court had sentenced her to 14 years imprisonment for murder. She was declared guilty of a murder in 1997 committed for revenge as the dead victim had shot dead her brother two years ago.
She was arrested last year in Italy.
