France reiterates support to Albania’s development

TIRANA, Dec. 10 – Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha held talks in Paris on Saturday with his French counterpart Francois Fillon during which they discussed bilateral cooperation and regional issues.
Berisha was in France to take part in a meeting of the European People’s Party forum in which the governing Democratic Party is a member.
Fillon considered the political relations between the two countries as very good and expressed interest for cooperation in fields of mutual interest.
Berisha listed some of the major French investments in Albania, which he considered as success stories, like Sagem, Eurocopter, Societe Generale, Credit Agricole and recently Carrefour as good examples of the potential for future French investments.
The two premiers also discussed renewable energy, public transportation projects in the Albanian capital, the modernization of public administration, projects in agriculture, and the cleaning of waters in Albania as fields of potential investments or areas in which France can offer its expertise or assistance.
