TIRANA May 31 – An exhibition dedicated to renowned Polish composer Frederic Chopin opened last weekend at the National Museum in Tirana. The “Chopin in Paris, the composer’s atelier” featured an interactive exhibition bringing documents proving the variety of Chopin’s works and the magic this genius brought to classical music.
The exhibition portrayed the universe of the composer and the way he managed to enter the artistic cycles in Paris. It was organized by the French embassy and French Alliance in the frame of the 200th birth anniversary of the renowned Polish composer.

Albanian celebrations to mark the 200th birth anniversary of renowned Polish composer kicked off on February 28 with a concert organized by the Municipality of Tirana, the Frederic Chopin Association, and the Polish and French embassies in Tirana.
Events continued on March 3 with a concert by Polish pianist Marek Szlezer at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet with some of Chopin’s best compositions and a concert by French pianist Pascal Gallet one month later.
The Polish composer and virtuoso pianist is considered one of the great masters of Romantic music. The great majority of Chopin’s compositions were written for the piano as a solo instrument.
