Good practices on promoting gender equality

TIRANA, May 31 – The Swiss Cooperation Office in Tirana (SCO-A) organized a workshop for sharing good practices in gender equality mainstreaming with partners and representatives from government, civil society and the donor community with around 100 participants contributed to sharing good practices in gender equality mainstreaming.
“Albania’s journey towards European integration will be easier if men and women walk together in the same pace”, said Yvana Enzler, Ambassador of Switzerland in Albania. She recognized that progress has already been made but that “more needs to be done” regarding gender equality mainstreaming.
Deputy Labor Minister Filloreta Kodra said that “Gender equality is being implemented by the Government of Albania and this will continue to be high on the government’s agenda.”
Rahel Boesch, Acting Head of SCO-A, called on participants to join efforts: “Overall, there is a good framework and good potentials – so let us be practical and modest, just do it!”
