TIRANA, Aug. 31 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha said that the government would soon name the Zogu i Zi crossroad, which became a contentious political issue for its section that would be built from the Socialist-run Tirana city hall, with the name of Rilindja. Berisha said that would be made to honor the country’s renaissance personalities. Another motive, according to Berisha, was the political motivation in the fight between ‘two culture diametrically opposing, the culture of bunker, tunnel with the culture of openness, the market, with the European civic culture in Tirana and Albania.” Though a good gesture toward the renaissance personalities, the act again did not escape the political dispute that covers every aspect of life in this tiny post-communist country.
