Greece’s supermarket chain Vasilopoulos to open stores in Albania

ATHENS, Oct 14 – A Greek food store chain company Alfa-Beta Vassilopoulis S.A. is considering opening up of branches in Bulgaria and Albania.
Final decisions are expected next year. The company’s new chain for low-priced goods, Lion Food Stores, which has been developing as an idea in the last four years, is a good match for e development of the Balkan markets.
Alfa-Beta Vassilopoulis S.A. is a food retail company established in 1969 and member of the Belgian Delhaize Group since 1992. At the end of 2007, the Alfa-Beta Vassilopoulis Group operated 159 stores and employed 7,545 people.
