Haxhinasto in Bosnia, visits Albanian peacekeepers

TIRANA, Feb. 5 – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto visited Sarajevo, Bosnia where he met with the local leaders and also took part at a joint classic concert held there. During the visit Haxhinasto also met with Albanian military troops part of ALTHEA Operation in Bosnia Herzegovina and also with EUFOR Commandant Gen. Maj. Bernhard Bair.
Haxhinasto praised their mission in B&H and extended the gratitude of the government and the people for their role in promoting Albania’s image as a factor of peace and stability in the region and wider.
Gen. Bair highly praised the performance of the Albanian troops. Haxhinasto assured the General for Tirana’s unwavering will to continue its contribution with troops and praised the significance of the EUFOR Mission, stressing that Bosnia’s stability was important for its own citizens and for the whole region as well.
Haxhinasto also met with representatives of the Albanian community in Bosnia, appreciating their role in reinforcing the stability and economic development for that country and inviting them to strengthen the bonds and invest in Albania.
Haxhinasto also took part at the joint festive concert that Albania and Bosnia hosted in Sarajevo to celebrate the liberalization of visas for the two countries with the EU. That served to express the gratitude and appreciation for such a step from the European Union.
