High cost for international observers

TIRANA, April 10 – The OSCE / ODIHR will spend some 970,000 euros to bring 400 short-term observers in Tirana for the May 8 local elections.
The short-time observers will stay in Albania from May 4th to May 12th.
The total cost for an observer, according to the official calculations of ODIHR is 2,425 euro.
Application has already started near the center of ODIHR in Poland and the deadline for the application of short-term observers (STOs) is April 9th, while the deadline for the arrival of STOs monitors in Albania is Wednesday May 4th.
Meanwhile 15 experts are located in capital Tirana and 24 long-term ones have already arrived and based in Albania.
