Higher Bulgarian investments in Albania in 2008

SOFIA, Sep 29 – Bulgarian media reported on an interview with the Albanian ambassador to Sofia, Bujar Skendo, saying that Bulgarian investments in Albania increased in 2008.
The Bulgarian companies had made investments mostly in the light and food industry. Skendo also said there are great opportunities in Albania for Bulgarian business mainly in the field of tourism.
‘There are a lot of investments in hotels, vacation villages, etc. Bulgarian investors could make benefit of this and present projects to the Albanian government. This would be in their benefit and naturally in the interest of the development of the Albanian tourism’, Skendo said.
The ambassador also said there was a visible increase of the number of Bulgarian tourists along the Albanian coast.
Albania imports in Bulgaria goods for more than $100 million per year and the export is about $15-20 million.
