TIRANA, Nov. 17 – Interior Minister Lulzim Basha warned travel and tourist agencies in the country against trying to promote trips abroad aimed at employing Albanians after they enjoy the visa liberalization in mid-December.
Basha followed his public awareness campaign Wednesday meeting with a group of travel agencies in Tirana, accompanied by Albania’s top policeman, Hysni Burgaj.
Basha considered travel agencies as partners in raising awareness among Albanians on what the visa liberalization means – that is, no residence or employment in the Schengen countries
The European Union decided to grant the visa liberalization for Albania and Bosnia, something which is expected to start by Dec 15.
It was the travel agencies that were blamed for pushing some hundreds of Macedonians and Serbs to go to western European countries and ask for asylum there, raising fears among some EU countries that the influx could rise with two more countries included in the Schegen area.
