TIRANA, March 6 – Authorities in Albania have started the investigation of the match-fixing in the national league.
The executive committee of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) is investigating three matches played during the national championship.
It is being assisted by UEFA.
A last round match played in Tirana is in the focus of the probe, where the reigning champion Dinamo was easily beaten by one of the league leaders Skenderbeu.
The local media has also hinted that the Federation president Armando Duka could have some links with the president of Skenderbeu club as a shareholder of a private company.
There are many rumours on how clubs sell matches of the league.
A former top club, Partizani, one of the leading ones in the last half a century, is at the bottom of the ranking and ready to be relegated for the next championship due to the lack of funding and the legal clashes of its managers.
