TIRANA, Nov. 22 – The week of the Italian film started Tuesday in the Albanian capital organized by the Culture Ministry at the International Cultural Center Arbnori. It will broadcast six films from the well known Italian producer Francesco Rossi, known for his political dramatic films. The films were selected from producer Nello Correale, head of the Cinema di Frontiera international film festival, and critic Sebastiano Gesu. “Salvatore Giuliano” produced in 1962 with actors Frank Wolff, Salvo Randone, Pietro Cammarata was the first one to be seen from Albanian spectators. The film speaks about the infamous Italian bandit who was killed in 1950. Rossi is among the generation of the new realism Italian producers known for his film Chronicle of a warned death (1987) and some other 15 films. During the week there will also be exhibitions with books and photo-films from Rossi’s activity. There will also be held debates with Italian and Albanian cinema personalities about the topics covered from Rossi in his films.
