TIRANA, July 15 – Thousands of Kosovars have crossed the border to hold their vacations in the Albanian beaches.
Kosovars are coming from their country through the new road link, that has cut the trip from the border to Durres to three hours (from at least six before) but also at the Durres port from Italy.
Albanian beaches are considered to be their main target where they find good and cheap prices though not great accommodation.
Albania’s border crossings, be in the land with Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro but also through the sea and air have been very busy at this time with many tourists but also many Albanian immigrants coming back to their homeland for vacation with their families.
Elections and not a proper summer weather had kept tourists away from Albania until now. It seems that hotter weather and cooler politics in the country has rung bells calling for tourists to come and taste the country’s still virgin beaches.
