TIRANA, April 21 – Enver Hasani, head of Kosovo’s Constitutional Court, visited Tirana where he also met with President Bamir Topi (who is also head of the Albanian High Council of Justice) and his Albanian host Bashkim Dedja.
They talked on the developments in the judicial systems in both countries, its professionalism, impartiality and efforts to stay away from the political affiliations or pressure.
“Though Kosovo is a new state with relatively young institutions, its efforts to strengthen and consolidate the rule of law are obvious,” said Topi.
That is a clear reference to what the Constitutional Court in Kosovo has done only in the last months.
Two presidents were obliged to resign after it found they had violated the Constitution.
There are many verdicts of the Albanian Constitutional Court that have remained not executed.
The two countries also signed a cooperation agreement on their judiciary systems.
