Kosovo UN official gets Tirana’s support

TIRANA, Nov 18 – Lamberto Zannieri, the Special Representative of UN Secretary General in Kosovo, held a visit to Tirana to talk with the local top official on the recent developments in Kosovo and the region.
Prime Minister Sali Berisha hailed the UN’s very important role and also Kosovo’s achievements in just more than one year of independence.
Zannieri thanked Tirana for its support and contribution to Kosovo’s works and also in consolidating peace, security and cooperation in the region.
Both officials stressed the need for a second donor’s conference on Kosovo in order to collect more funding on its development.
Zannieri also met with Foreign Minister Ilir Meta.
In their talks they discussed Sunday’s elections in Kosovo hailing their “successful development Ševidencing that the processes unveiled in Kosovo are irreversible.”
Meta reaffirmed support for the Kosovo authorities and their willingness to cooperate with EULEX, EU, U.SA, NATO and other international factors, with the conviction that this cooperation is very important for the consolidation of the independent state and its sooner involvement in the European and Euro-Atlantic family.
